Once you set you goal to reach black belt, your next step is Master Club. This program expands the Basic curriculum to include all the elements of traditional Taekwondo, including forms (a memorized pattern of movements), free sparring, (spontaneous exchange of moves with a partner), board breaking (demonstration of power and accuracy), and weapons! Master club students study three basic weapons: sseong jul bong (nunchuks), bahng mang ee (stick), jahng bong (long stick). Plus, you”ll be able to start a trophy collection because as a member of Master Club, you’re eligible to compete at any of the regional, national, and world tournaments!

Now that you”ve set the goal to reach Black Belt, the best part is as you advance in rank you will learn more advanced and complex techniques (like jumps-kicks, spin-kicks, and jump/spin kicks) making forms, free sparring and board breaking more challenging and FUN! As your traditional taekwondo technique advances, so will your weapons training. More exciting weapons forms using double sseong jul bong (nunchuks) and double bahng mang ee (stick) will take your understanding of focus, concentration and coordination to a whole new level! Oh, did I mention WEAPONS SPARRING?

Through this advanced curriculum in Master Club, you will learn life skills like persistence, integrity, focus, discipline, respect, courage. You’ll learn what these qualities look like not just in your Taekwondo class, but also what they look like at home, at school, and in all areas of your life.

Master Club will make your journey to Black Belt fun and rewarding, GUARANTEED!

LEADERSHIP:

Those enrolled in LEADERSHIP experience an even more exciting path to black belt and beyond:

EXPANDED MARTIAL ARTS CURRICULUM

ATA Xtreme teaches higher levels of confidence through the use of performance skills and dramatic presentation. LEADERSHIP MEMBERS may compete not only in traditional forms, sparring, and weapons, but they can also challenge themselves through Xtreme and Creative competition in which they develop their own routines and choreograph to music. The expanded martial arts curriculum also includes additional weapons—GUM DO (straight sword) and SSANG NAT (kama). Leadership students can put these expanded martial arts skills to use not only in competition, but also as members of SENIOR MASTER BABIN’S DEMO TEAM!

LEADERSHP CLASS AND UNIFORM

Leadership students attend a weekly class devoted to the leadership skills mentioned here and the expanded martial arts curriculum. They also wear a different uniform which bears the collar stripe of a leader, a symbolic YOKE that indicates that they are willing to learn the skills needed to move our black belt academy and our organization forward.

LEADERSHIP LIFE SKILLS

Include SERVICE, HUMILITY, ENTHUSIASM, RESPECT, and KNOWLEDGE. Leaders study these concepts and are expected to demonstrate these skills through their actions.

STATE / WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OPPORTUNITY   (optional)

Leadership students not only enjoy the privilege of competition like MASTER CLUB students do, but they also may earn the title of STATE or WORLD CHAMPION. There are categories for ALL AGES and ALL RANK. Use this link—– to review the various categories and set your own championship goal!!!

TEACHING / COMMUNICATION SKILLS

LEADERS reinforce what they are learning by communicating and leading others. They learn public speaking, and they learn how to build rapport through posture, facial expression, and language. They put these skills to use by assisting in classes and at graduations, seminars, and tournaments.

“Olivia has taken Senior Master Babin’s advice. She always makes a new friend at tournaments by introducing herself to others”—an exercise we do in leadership class! “And because she has been so friendly over the last few years, she always sees friends at tournaments. I’m pleased at the way she has learned to make friends.”

– Carl Moore, parent of 2nd degree black belt, Olivia

“Taekwondo is the best-rounded activity a child can do. There is no place else kids go where they learn the stuff he’s learning in the LEADERSHIP PROGRAM. One of the benefits of the program is he learns respect and courtesy, how to shake hands and look someone in the eye.”

– Larry Petrelli, father of 1st degree black belt, Joey

“I look at the young black belt leaders helping in Taylor’s classes and around the academy and I think to myself, ‘If Taylor turns out like them, we did something right.’”

– Nicole Kwasneski, mother of 1st degree black belt, Taylor

“As John trained, we did see his focus improve. But the ENTIRE LEADERSHIP EXPERIENCE has been a great and unexpected benefit! Completing the Junior Leadership Workbook gave John really important training, especially in goal setting.”

– Kathy Meyer, mother of 3rd degree black belt, John
